Our Story

The Spice That Travelled the World

Long before any person from India set foot on European soil, a tiny black berry had already crossed every ocean, conquered every royal table, and changed the course of history. Pepper — born in the lush, rain-washed forests of Kerala's Malabar Coast — was the world's first great traveller. Called "black gold," it was so precious that empires rose and fell in its pursuit, and in 1498, the Portuguese explorer Vasco da Gama sailed all the way to the shores of Kerala — not for glory, but for pepper.

The spice arrived in Europe centuries before the people who grew it ever did. It travelled silently, carried by merchants across ancient routes, filling the kitchens and dreams of a continent that had never seen the green vine it came from. Pepper did not wait for permission. It simply went — and the world followed.

Pepper was the first ambassador Kerala ever sent to the world — and it changed everything it touched.

We Are the Next Travellers

We are four IT engineers who came from Kerala to Kraków with laptops, dreams, and a deep love for the flavours of home. What started as casual cooking sessions, weekend gatherings, and community meetups slowly grew into something bigger — a desire to create a place where Kerala's warmth, hospitality, and spirit could live in the heart of Poland.

Just as pepper once carried Kerala's soul to distant lands, we carry it now — in our hands, in our recipes, and in every spice we bring to your table. Pepper Leaf is our answer to a simple longing: the smell of cardamom in the morning, the warmth of black pepper in a slow-cooked curry, the sharp kiss of green chilli that reminds you of home.

The Village Club Spirit

Back home, every village has a club — a place where people gather after a long day to talk, laugh, play carrom, share stories, and enjoy simple, soulful food. These clubs are more than buildings; they are community anchors. They are where friendships grow, where culture is kept alive, and where everyone belongs.

We missed that feeling.

And we knew others did too.

So we decided to build it.

Not just a restaurant.

Not just a bar.

But a Kerala "Thani Nadan" Village Club — a space where anyone can walk in, eat, drink, play, and feel at home.
